We have poured a concrete slab that has minor cracking in it. The builder wants us to pull slab and replace it. The only spec that is called out is to replace if there is excessive cracking. I am trying to find any information i can to stop us from removing and replacing. I have looked thru ACI documents and could find nothing when it comes to slab on grade.

This thread is similar and has a bit of info:

You are a sub-trade to the builder? What type of slab? slump? sawcuts? when? size? thickness? weather during pour? curing? anything specified?

Lots of questions...

Whose design was it? Were the placement and curing specifications adhered to? What is the useage of the slab?

What is your definition of minor cracking in terms of crack widths. I think the crack widths in the thread attached above are for flexural cracking limits (please advise if I am wrong).

I recently had a slab on grade experience cracking at re-entrant corners of 2mm after 1 week and will continue to widen. This was a result of saw-cutting too late (the foreman called me and told me he wasn't going to sawcut until the following day which hopefully relieves me of some indemnity) and not placing #4 trimmer bars at the re-entrant corners (they probably try and put the indemnity on me for not picking up on that during inspection).
