How to model flat floor slab (possibly with a drop panels)?
- including column bending stiffness above and below slab
or
- without incl. column bending stiffness?
This is important mainly for deformation check.
I have some more questions:
Is there code restrictions (according to UBC ,ACI, FEMA ) regarding axial column normalized forces to primary seismic elements and which is the ratio? ( Similar to EC8 - this norm. axial force should not exceed 0.55 )
Also: Is there restrictions on the size of RC building in plane regarding to temperature and seismic loads?
P.s.
I am civil engineer. I have some experience with CSI products and modeling behavior.
