Are there any available sites for reading ANSI standards? These documents are available for a price but it seems that many (especially old revisions) could be available for free on the web.

Is this too much to ask of the standards organizations? I know they need to make a living but there must be an economic model that allows them to do so without depending solely on publication income. Perhaps their income could come from intelligent programs that interpret the standards for users or refer them to suppliers who make products that comply with their standards.... (just musing)
