Dear all,
I was wondering how to specify in a .inp file that one or a small group of elements will have a different material properties
the problem is in fact for me to 'test' the part (eigen frequencies and shapes) when playing with material properties variations at the element level (coarse meshes) uner matlab (so I need a .inp text file)
If one has a .inp example file on this question I will be very interested !!
I hope it was clear enought...
Thank you very much !!
Fred

Add materials and create sections with these materials. Create element sets containing selected elements. Now sections can be assigned to these element sets without any problem. It can be done both in CAE (then write input file) or in INP file.

Just learn how how the input file works and it will be an easy task. Basically you place every element group that will get a specific assitgnment in an own set. Then you can apply a section to each set and refer to a specific material in these section.
