Simulation PWHT requirement

Is it valid to perform PWHT without simulation PWHT for P-No. 8 material?
Our valve vendor supplied a disk (material p no 8, asme sec iii nc )
after hard facing, they performed PWHT. But they don't have simulation PWHT.

Is it ok in the view of code requirement?

I believe the code only requires the PWHT, not the simulation.
