Hi

I would be grate full for any guidance or a design for a simple requirement that I have.
While I have tried researching how to do this with online calculators and documents, such as those from Parker etc., not being an engineer, I am finding it over whelming and confusing.

Basically I know that:
- I need a Dynamic Reciprocating Seal
- The materials will be thermoplastic like polypropylene and nylon
- The Piston Outer Diameter is 64mm
- Operating temperature is Max 100 degC
- Liquid is Water
- Max seal requirement 12bar

What I need to know is:
- Appropriate O-Ring type and size
- Detailed spec for groove/gland on the piston
- Min gap between piston and cylinder

Could anyone please provide a design for this requirement or a simple calculator.

Many thanks in advance for any advice

Thanks for the quick reply.

Not sure if I explained myself, entirely, correctly because I meant reciprocating only because of the motion when coupling and uncoupling. The application is more a kin to a Stop-end on a cylinder where the seal is fixed to the cylinder instead of the cap and after the cap if secured, pressure builds up in the cylinder, to 12bar, and must not leak out.

Are the Seals you provided still the most appropriate ?

Yes in service the seal is static. Does that mean I need to be considering static seal.
