Simple FEA Question

Hi,
I'm modeling a support frame for a hydraulic cylinder.

The cylinder at max will output roughly 35,000 lbs.

When I'm defining the forces. Will I have 35,000 lbs on the mounting face for the cylinder AND another 35,000 lbs on the base plate that the cylinder will be pushing against.

Or do I split the 35,000 lbs between the two?

I think I'm doing it correctly but just want to double check.

option 1 ... if the cyclinder is going to push against something, it has to react that push (at the other end)

That's exactly what I thought but I'm getting some strange results so thought I'd start with the simple things and work from there.

Alternatively, apply the force at one end and restrain the other end. The reaction force at the restraing will be equal and opposite to the load applied.
