I need to convert a sketch from an elipse into several
connected end- and start points with different radius. The reason I have to this is that this sketch are the reference geometry for a CNC operation. I have to put on dimensions for programming. That means start and end points, also the different radius in each section.

I found the solution.
Make a new sketch, then use "include", split the sketch into several tangent arcs.

RAM, I fear that the fundamentals of conic section geometry prevent you from truly doing this.

At best you can only approximate an ellipse by using a number of tangent arcs.

Typically an ellipse is specified on a drawing by giving major & minor semi radii or diameter and the angle one axis.

I take it you don't have the ability to translate your model into CNC code using CAM?

Hi Kenat, yes I`m aware of that.
I measured the path in Solid Edge, before and after. The difference was prox. 0,009mm and in this paricular job it`s Ok.
And you are right, we don`t have post-prosessor for this CNC machine.

Thank you for the replay
