Our Supfina lapper is faulting five to six times a week. The fault is E-A799 FEPROM Backup and HW Reset required. This fault will clear when we manually reference the machine table manually and power down and bring the machine back up with an NCK reset. My biggest question is that the manual states that we need to load the new reference positions into the drive parameters and then reset the machine. After faulting we are powering down and bringing the machine up without placing any data into the parameters? This certainly goes against what the manual is saying? So in wondering that has anyone had this problem before? And was this a drive issue? As sporadic as this is happening I cannot see this being an encoder or drive problem. Possibly a torque problem I am not sure. If anyone has seen an issue similar to this. Any info would help greatly seeing as we are stumbling around with step 7.Before any of my fellow peers here step up and say (well then get the step 7 training). It is in the works..lol..Thanks everyone.

Probably what is happening is the data is present in the data tables for your plc, so when you do a cold boot, it loads the tables that has these parameters.

You can program a routine to do a cold boot load by not powering down.

As for the root cause, is the power stable, that is causing the memory data table to get wiped out on the PLC?

It will tell you on the controller properties what the reason for the stoppage. Should give you a file and rung or line number.

Not sure what you mean by "Supfina lapper"?
