side stripper

Hi all
I want to increse capacity od kerosene side stripper of crude atmospheric distillation column.
I am considering installation of structural packing . Existing internal is 8 valve trays .Is ther any experience of side stripper with structural packing?

Though there are many advantages for structured packing over trays, tolerance to fouling service is not one of them. In crude service, this would be moderately fouling, so go with a multipass trayed column and operate at a low flood factor to minimise pressure drop.

Are there not many process performance considerations to be considered ?

Do you not want some type of computer modelling of your complex process to enable you to make wise choices ??
