What would Y’all recon would be the best way to get some shape file defined text out of AutoCAD into Solidworks, for a sheet format? We don’t have the font anywhere as a ttf, and solidworks wont interpret the shx file, I can text explode the text, but it’s rather thick text, that’s been filled up by more or less hatching, so when I explode the text I get something like 4000 lines for a sentence, and, needless to say, solidworks doesn’t handle that too well. I’ve tried doctoring up the text and filling it in with a solid hatch, that works fairly well, but it makes for overly large sheet format files, and slow response form solidworks. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
nick

Do you have a very strict requirement for the font? How close would a TTF have to be in order to be acceptable? If you can find a TTF that's close enough you could make all text (dims, etc) match the sheet format.
