Hi,

I'm curious to know how some calculate shrink rates for wax molds or dies.

Thanks

I normally measure the mould then measure the part.

If I need to predict shrinkage I try to find an existing example that is similar in composition and design paramerers that influence the shrinkage.

Regards
Pat

Hi Patprimmer,

Thanks for the feedback. Would you happen to have an example?

Not with me.

The only wax moulding I have seen is for jewelry and shrinkage really does not matter there. My real shrinkage prediction experience is with thermoplastics. Well I suppose wax is just a real low MW PE, but I would hesitate to use PE as an example.

Regards
Pat
