Hi,

what is the reason why NX sheet metal's Cleanup Utility does not produce parametric bodies?

By definition, the sorts of changes that the Sheet Metal 'Clean-up' utility makes to a model cannot be captured as 'features'. These changes generally involve cleaning-up the topology of a model, down at the edge and face level. Keep in mind that the changes being made are not specifically creating any sort of 'sheet-metal' features, rather it's simply making sure that the solid has consistent thicknesses, that what are represented as potential bends are consistent in terms of inside/outside radius, etc. Once this has been done, if it was succesful you can then proceed to using the 'Convert to Sheet Metal' function which WILL create a Sheet Metal 'feature' which will then be able to be flattened as well as able to accept new Sheet Metal features such as Flanges, Cutouts, Beads, Louvers, etc.
