Is there a lap length requirement for ties in drilled piers? Spirals have a lap length requirement, I see. In columns and pedestals it seems that the ties are just hooked and don't seem to give any kind of requirement.

A spiralis intended to be a single continuous piece, so it must be spliced. Ties are discrete elements so the hooks serve to anchor the bars. If you're talking about circular ties, we provide hooks in them similar to a rectangular tie. If you don't wan to hook it I would provide a Class B (top bar) lap length of each circular tie.

That is what I thought as well. I was asking about circular ties, so thanks.
