Shear Panel 3x Edge Nailing Requirements

In the CBC 2007, Table 2306.3, footnote, i: 3x nominal members required for >350 plf, or per 2305.3.11, could be reduced to 2x if <600plf and 2x the required anchor bolts are used.

I don't see this provision in the CBC 2010.

Can anyone show me otherwise?

Per a Structuremag article the sill plate size is now designed, see it at

Per the attached pdf from Simpson at the bottom of the first page
"7. For designs under the 2009 IBC, sill plate size shall comply with the shearwall requirements
of the 2008 Special Design Provisions for Wind and Seismic. MASA spacing shall be as
required for design load."

This appears to match what the CBC 2010 (which is based on the 2009 IBC) states.

But this only applies to the plate, not the studs required at the adjoining panels.

Great. Thank you. In reading throught the SDPWS 2008, I was not able to locate the requirement for 2x or 3x sill, but only came across the requirement for the washer. Thanks for your help! Great archicle.
