You should be able to as long as your "trimpot" is not a precision unit(multiturn), and your "shaftpot" can handle at least as much current as your "trimpot". What kind of circuit is it in?
It's a speed controller for a 10amp motor.
The unit's only adjustment to control speed is by removing the cover and adjusting the trimpot. I would like to fit a shaftpot and protrude it through the cover. The trimpot has 3 conections.Thanks
Suggestion: The pots have various functions, e.g. resistance versus rotation (linear, quadratic, square root, logarithmic, exponential, tapered various ways, etc.)
I have tried it and it works, however it's not linear.
I am trying to work out a position scale around the shaftpot where it protrudes through the cover (eliminating the need to open the cover to reset the motor speed)indications are it wont be equal graduations yet if it is correctly marked any technician should be able to adjust it.
The load is constant per RPM.Thanks
