Shaft Seal for Dry Screw Compressor

Dear all,

API 619 suggests some types of shaft seals for dry screw compressors including labyrinths, carbon rings and dry gas seals.

Are all of these seals types applicable and/or equivalent? What are the criteria to select one type and how can we choose the right seal type for a particular case?
