Shaded with Visible Edges Not Working

I have run into this problem a number of times, but have not figured out what causes it. Often I will have the Shaded with Visible Edges view option selected, but the model shows hidden lines as well, making for a very cluttered and unclear view.

Sometimes toggling certain sketches on or off corrects the problem so that only visible lines are drawn.

Does anyone know what is causing this behavior?

First eliminate graphic card related issues - is your graphic card supported by SE and do you have the latest drivers.

Also is the version of SE you're running certified on you OS. I have V19 on W7 and there are a few issues.
