Does anyone know a value to estimate the setlling rate of water droplet in a naptha drum to achieve a good separation on the waterboot? The system is located in an overhead crude topping tower.

Thanks

According to Norman P. Lieberman book, Process Design for Reliable Operations, page 93, 20 feet per hour or less – very good.

Regards,

Milutin

You may find additional information in Henry Z. Kister's Distillation -Operation- McGraw-Hill (1990), chapter 15, p.484.
