I'm being interviewed for a position today. One of key points of intrest is the POWER COPY command. I've researched here and some other places but Do not have a grasp on this. I've attempted to excute this function w/o much success. If some one could provide a brief over view/ requirements. It could really help me out! Thank you in advance for any efforts on my behalf

This is a little more in depth that what can be typed in a forum. If you have your help installed on your computer do a search for Creating PowerCopies in the Part Design module. This will give you the basic run down of how they work.

Here's a key piece of advice - if you don't know how to do it, don't try to take a crash course. Be honest, tell them you don't know, and give them a good clean interview.

It's better to let the job slip than build a long-term negative attitude towards yourself when they find you out. (for saying that you do things that you actually don't)

Most employers wil more readily hire a less skilled, but willing learner than an experienced expert with undesireable traits. (like dishonesty)

Ok, I will have a go...

Power copy is to group a bunch of feature and then instanciate the same group again as new independent features.

You can save the power copies in parts or catalogs, power copies can even be used to instanciate and create new parts.

Easiest way for you to test it is to create a new body/set and make some features, then highlight the body/set and chose power copy, it will automaticly search for external references (relative to the body/set) and use that as input data when instanciate, there is a possibilty to publish some parameters, this will give you the possibilty to change thoose while instanciating. This will give you an idea of what it´s capability is.

Hope it helped some
