Does anyone have experience with Exlar or other servo actuator for globe control valves. I am especially interested in explosive area installations. See previous post by PABW (unfortunately closed thread)
Rexa have self-contained hydraulic servos designed for hazardous areas. If you can use something which is off-the-shelf and don't need anything customising they seem pretty good. We had a few problems with customised product but nothing which couldn't be overcome. Moog also have some sort of self-contained hydraulic servo but their sales guy in the UK was so unspeakably bad that we didn't find any more out about that product. It would have just been too much trouble to deal with a disinterested moron however good the product was. Incidentally I do like Moog servos - the build quality is first class.

I guess a Rexa actuator could work, but I am afraid that it is quite costly compared to electric servo solution. -Do you have any price indication (need roughly 3kN force)? Also, we need a speed of at least 5" per second. On top of that profibus or other field bus to control the unit...
