Hello, everyone. I carried out the finite element simulation of the metal cutting process in Abaqus/Explicit, but there was a serious error report in the mesh distortion, and the simulation was aborted. Later, I reduced the mesh size by half, and the failure displacement was also reduced, but there was still a serious error report in the mesh distortion(Isn't it easier for the grid to be deleted by reducing the failure displacement? But the grid is still pulled very slender.). How should I solve it?

What is the error message ? Are other elements deleted from the mesh or is there no element removal at all ? Make sure that damage initiation and evolution with element deletion are properly defined. Check the outputs related to damage in those distorted elements.
