I have several expensive EE software packages with a current license.
Can the license be sold to another person/firm and if so where do you market them?
thanks
JIM
The EULA probably says 'no', but the high courts have already ruled that part of the EULA is null and void (for example, look up Adobe vs. Softman). Companies try to claim you're leasing a license to the product and not purchasing it... courts say if you purchased the package as it was sold to you, you own it for the right of reselling it.
That said, people may not want to purchase it as they'll then have to battle with the company to get support on a product when "the EULA clearly states the software cannot be transferred". YMMV...
I know that when the principals here bought the firm, they purchased the CAD licenses along with the business. Since we have upgraded since then, I assume the sale was legit.
