In the present senario: HFO will be OFFLOADED through Trucks (4nos.) and pumped to Storage Tanks. We are planning to Install a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) unit for a HFO Motor (Approx. 50kW rating). The Pump Motor is sized considering the senario (i.e. all 4 Trucks Off-loading HFO at a same time)
I am having few basic questions related to the selection of VFD:
1) As the probability of all the 4 Trucks Off-loading at a time is very less (means motor is not fully loaded), Is the selection of VFD as a motor starter is recommended or shall I use Current Limiting Type SOFT-STARTERS.
2) What factors governs the selection of VFD Drive for an HFO Pump Motor.
Thanks in advance for your response.
