We got involved with a company to help design a device. It is a consumer to light commercial grade product. The air blower requirements are .5-1.0psi/40-80cfm. Only pumping ambient air. Blower requirement are primarily longevity, low noise, and cost.

Primarily a regenerative blower has been our recommended choice but the customer cost requirement is substantially lower and to be honest, due to the conditions they operate at, as well as the pressure/volume, there are probably more economical solutions. All the regen blowers we have looked at are heavy industrial grade cast Aluminum, which are a substantial overkill.

Is there anything else out there we should be looking at?

Is the upper boundary condition 1psi at 80scfm? Or some other combination?
What power source (AC, DC, voltage)?
That is a lot of pressure for a standard blower.

The actual requirements would never really exceed .5psi and would be variable flow/pressure. In full flow conditions, it would be normal to see only 10-20"wc. Really the flow volume is the biggest component but the system must run with reasonable pressure because it has to close a check valve and we are still determining what that threshold will be.

These will operate on 120V AC
