Selecting xref layers

We draw up 75% of our projects using a master xref and set up additional drawings using this xref. Is there any way possible to "select" xref layers so that I can figure out which layers to turn off, or am I stuck having to go to the master xref to find out which layer they are on.

Open the host drawing. In Layer Manager right click on the xref filter. Select Visibility either Off or Frozen. This can be done at this upper level or at the level in the tree of each referenced drawing. If you don't want the xref layers to show in the layer properties list, select the xref filter and the invert selection checkbox at the lower left of the Layer Manager window.
