I'm working on an assembly and when I try to create a section view I get a window that says "Sectioning at this position will produce invalid bodies". I've never see this warning before... The strange thing is I was able to produce a section view previously with this same assembly... and it now this warning is occurring within a part file. I looked at thread559-132305 but didn't really see anything there that might help. Since this previous thread has anyone gotten any further insight to why this occurs....??

Thanks in advance for you help.

I got that the other day with an assembly drawing. It worked fine, I edited a part, and then the drawing was hosed. I cut a section through my part and then had a detail of the section view. The detail remained OK, but the section itself was in Dangling color and didn't section the parts correctly. ???

Reason trumps all. And awe transcends reason.

I had that happen to me too. It turned out the section line was too short so it wouldnt do it. I extended the section line a bit and it did it, then i cropped the view.

It's possible that sectioning doesn't work when CAPS LOCK is engaged.

Usually it happens when the section line intersects a vertex, especially the end of a cone.

I’ve seen this warning if a hole or body is tangent to the Sectional Line.
Try to move the sectioning sketch slightly.
