I am looking for a way to create a section cut through a thread created by the helix command, cutting along the lead angle. I want to three wire the thread to be able to measure the pitch diameter of the model. Has anyone been successful in this endeavor?

Thanks,

Matt D.

If you are cutting right at the lead, SE sometimes has a problem generating the section because it doesn't know how to "cut" the thread since it is right at the starting face of the feature. Offset the section .0001 in either direction and it should work. Or, can you take a section 90 degrees and still show the geometry you want?

The thread is a stub acme style. I am trying to cut so that you can't see any thread behind the cut. That way, I know that I am looking at the cross section of the thread, not some projected cut (I think???).
