Yay, I passed my SE-1 in my first try this past April.

These forums were greatly beneficial in my approach to problem solving and thinking.

Thank you to all the wonderful people here.

Yes, it was pretty fast. A lot of other states have also declared their results.

Congratulations Slick! Think beer & steak.

Congrats slickdeals! I'm anxiously awaiting results for the SEII I took this April.

For those also waiting and counting days, attached is a spreadsheet of compiled results release dates. I have to credit willheldp_PE on engineerboards.com for the original file.

Get ready for SE2..or I guess now, the combined exam.

Good luck.

Congratulations slickdeals, great work.

Michael.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

Congratulations, slickdeals. We all knew you could do it.

Congrats! I'm still waiting to hear - my state is a little slow. I hope to hear this week, though.

So, does that mean that slickdeals has to write SE-II before April 2011 in order to avoid the new 16 hour exam?

BA

Depends on what his state requires to practice and when and if that changes with the release of the new NCEES test.

Oh and congratulations!

Welcome to a new level of responsibility.

Use it well.

I will not be able to take the SE-II in October, probably because the exam application deadline has probably passed.

Also, I believe existing PE's will be grand-fathered in most of the states. I am not sure how all of this will work out, but I am sure no one will take my P.E. away from me.

I am doing my research to find out what more will I need to do in the future to continue practicing.

slickdeals, I think you've got plenty of time to apply for this October. If I didn't pass the SE2 this past April, I will have to debate retaking the test. I'm pretty sure I can in KS without worrying about the deadline.

There are many people curious about the "grandfathering". Nebraska already has an "equivalency" SE license that basically requires passing the SE1 plus 10 years of experience. It is not unreasonable to think that other states would follow suit... who knows though.
