My wife woke up screaming this morning, I hear - about 0706h Hong Kong time 2009-09-19. Screaming - get out of the house; daughter screaming stay in the house . . .

Bali? That's like 1000 km away from you, isn't it? Or are they there on holiday?

Dave - they live in Bali; my daughter is going to high school there. In Dec, the "screaming wife" will return to me and Melissa will stay in Bali and attend Stenden University. Actually we aren't that far - Bali is about 1 hour by plane from Makassar South Sulawesi - and then it is 1 hour by a slow plane to our site - we are 2degS and they are 8degS - almost same latitude.

I just heard about the big quakes offshore the Samoan islands (with tsunami) and Sumatra, any news about situation in Bali and Sulawesi?

Someone is definitely keeping busy down there. Someone with big horns & hooves.

I didn't feel anything - Sumatra is a long way from bali and Sulawesi (wrong side of the islands for Sulawesi. I worked in Padang years ago for a while - nice city - near a mountain resort area called Bukitinggi .
