I need to check the capacity of an existing scissor truss roof. It is home made with plywood gussets. I have the measurements of all members, span (35 ft) spacing, pitches, etc. Does anyone know of a text or printout which will give me a graphical or mathmatical method of analysis.

Fundamentals of structural analysis by West or Matrix Structural Analysis by McGuire. These are my old text books where they made us painfully go though and calculate all the forces and deflections in trusses. I really don't think you want to do this, but I suppose it is possible. However, you will probably spend a week going though it and end up with answers that you don't feel very confident about. You need a computer with some software like RISA to calculate the forces and deflections.
