I just started using NX9 and a veteran user since NX7.5
My question comes to saving a default load option in the Assembly Load Options menu. When I click 'Save as Default' button I get a pop-up that reads: "File open error: -1 - trying to save defaults to file: Q:\load_otions.def". I understand that if I get this error I can save my "load_options.def" file to a specified location and then replace the default file location with the new one, but I have one problem...I don't have a Q:\ drive on my computer. I am not sure why it is defaulting to that location, but is there a way to change this location?

Thanks in advance,
Justin

"Somebody" has most probably set the variable "UGII_LOAD_OPTIONS" = Q:\....

If you in an NX session go Help - NX logfile and there search for "UGII_LOAD_" you should see that this is the case.
The UGII_... can be set in different ways, it might be set in the Windows control panel, Click the WIndows Start , in the white search field, type "envir", Windows should then offer to "edit environment variables for your account"
scroll through the "user Variables" and the "system variables" and look for the UGII_...

You can either edit this variable( or delete it)

The variable can also be set from one of the "env files" that NX reads upon startup.
The most probable is the Ugii_env.dat ( which is a plain text file , edit using notepad.)
You must search the NX logfile to find where your ugii_env.dat file resides ( and possibly how it's named.)

Tomas
