Hi All,

Can you please recommend a resource that will help me calculate the head ( friction) losses for a saturated salt (NaCl) brine pumped circuit. I can't seem to find any charts or correction factors that would give the friction losses or compare it to equivalent water flow.
I would need to pump the brine from the central saturator tank out to water pre-treatment skids and boiler feed water prep.
Is there a rule of thumb that can be used?

Regards

Just use the correct viscosity and density of the sol'n in the normal methods.

Good luck,
Latexman

To a ChE, the glass is always full - 1/2 air and 1/2 water.

Roughness value for PE/PVC / other thermoplastic piping is much less than that for carbon steel lines. ξ = 0.0456mm for non corroded CS piping and 0.005mm for plastic piping.
