SAP to Solidworks using Cideon RFC connection

Using the Cideon manual, I have configured our SAP system - entailed DMS and CAD Desktop configuration. I am now ready to work with the Basis team to establish RFC connection to the SolidWorks system. Any experience in implementing such a connection? My experience with RFC connections between SAP and any other system has never been smooth. Any experience out these integrating SAP to SolidWorks using the Cideon interface (middleware!)?
