I know that SmCo magnets are pretty inert in fresh water and do not corrode. Does anybody know of any documentation to this effect? Thanks.
 
No, that is not entirely true unless you are dealing with rather pure water and low temp.
There has been a lot written about environmental stability, look for papers out of the University of Dayton.
