Can someone tell me at what level of H2S do we have to use HIC plate. I have an exchanger with a stream containing 100ppm H2S 140F to 200F @ 60psia.
Is there a table or chart that will tell me this ?

Thanks
KWG

KWG53;
I had come across a publication from Bethlehem Lukens Steel (web site that has a section on hydrogen induced cracking (HIC) resistant steel plate (low sulfur contents). The Bethlehem Lukens publication references a NACE publication 8X194 titled 'Materials and Fabrication Practices for New Pressure Vessels used in Wet H2S Service". I believe it contains categories of H2S service for pressure vessel plates.

See NACE MR0175 or new ISO 15156. You also need to know Ph value.
