RTD Extension Lead

Would a 10m RTD extension lead have to comply with a clients cable specification or can we say that since it is an extension lead then it not really a separate cable?

Don't ask us. Ask the client. The answer will probably be:
"Read and follow the spec!"
The client may accept "equal or better". The client will decide what qualifies as equal or better.

Ultimately, the customer is going to want to see if your cable is going to mess up the accuracy of the measurement. Can you analytically show that there is insufficient impact to be concerned?

I understood the biggest impact on TRD data accuracy/reproducibility was (1) lead length and then (2) lead-lead connections - which involve both items here for an extension, right?.

Is this still true? Or is my info out-of-date?

And resistance to abrasion, temperature rating, resistance to chemicals, insulation quality, mechanical strength, overall size, shielding and probably a few other issues.

and, changes over time, e.g., copper, which is the predominant cable conductor material, work hardens, so if the extension cable is moved repeatedly, there could be changes to the wire conductance.
