RTC with Windows NT or 2000

Hi all,
The system in question uses as P4 HP, Labview 6.1, with NI's SCXI as I/O. Second, I should explain what RTC (Real Time Control) is required for my application.

Nominal, control action and DAQ every 0.100 seconds.
Maximun 2 seconds of no control (Control application not main thread), every 1 minute.

Thirdly, the risk associated with loss of control is more product damage base than human safety base.

I am familiar with the Windows OS and its Non-deterministic characteristics. However, is there any means that can be used to keep it under control to meet my application?

Furthermore, I do not have a firm opinion on whether to prevent Non-deterministic behaviour (mimmic PLC based systems) or detect it (external watchdog).

This system already exists and converting to a PLC based system is an expensive option.

You thoughts pls.

I would use it in DOS, WINDOWS is just too unreliable,
unpredictable, slow, etc.

There is no reason you can't stop everything on failure.
