Hello everyone,

I am going to graduate in May in MEE degree and currently am working for a company.
I am doing an analysis of their bearing loads for a specific machine. What I would love is someone
to help me with analyzing the reaction forces on the bearings so therefore I could use the right
rating and sized bearings for my application. I have attached a few CAD drawings of the machine.
Please let me know if I am doing the calculations correctly with the FBD diagram of the "cantilever arm"
. Also I am not sure how to go about calculating/drawing the FBD diagram for the lower horizontal bearings. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

If there are any questions please feel free to ask.
Thank you again and any help is highly appreciated

Please be precise in characerizing your deliverables.

Photo image files of poorly lit low contrast prints at oblique angles are not CAD drawings.

Any load on the round 'forks' will cause a moment on the rising assembly, in a plane perpendicular to the load plane for which you have already provided bearings.

The moment could be opposed by the rising assembly plates riding on the tower,
or the bearings transferring thrust from their studs to the tracks,
or binding of the lift screw as its nut is misaligned.

I'm guessing the machine squeaks and binds.

Oh. I'm guessing you're puzzled because your FBD in three dimensions didn't show any force pairs capable of reacting the moment I mentioned above, i.e., the mast lacks half of the necessary bearings. Find the person who made the CAD model, and inspect a real forklift mast together.
