I drew lines of trusses and saved it as DXF but everytime I import it on risa, it tells me "DXF file was not translated". I tried to call risa but they cant seem to return my phone call. Maybe because im on 5.0 instead 7.0. Anyone know what is going on?

is this 2d or 3d?

We've never had a problem bringing in a DXF, but I haven't done it lately.

If it's 2D, is your dxf in the same plane (XY) as RISA?

3D. I even simplified it with only 1 layer and purged everything.

I usually get good response to my emails - might take a day but they do respond.

I think if you include the dxf file in your email they can then check it out.

I just imported a test dxf file and it worked fine.

I've never had a problem importing DXF's... we too are on RISA 5, but our ACAD is equally ancient, lol, ACAD 2000i. Is it possible that your DXF file is created by a newer version of ACAD (or other) and that is not being read by the older RISA for some reason? (The same way you can't open an acad 2007 drawing in acad 2000?)

I know I've had problems importing DXF files into RISA before, typically when I would use polylines in my dxf. Once I exploded all the polylines or just used regular lines in AutoCAD, I had no problems then importing into RISA.
