RF output signal

Hello All
I am to design a simple and cheep (as possible) a signal generator that would produce an output RF signal @ 1MHZ that would be able to produce about 30-35W dissipated upon 200 ohm load.

Its possible to use 2 sync modules that produce less power each one that would work together with phase shift to acheive the same purpose.

Key word here it should be simple and use bought modules if posssible, smallest that can be found
Any one bummped in such design or similar?

Quantity - is it one-off or many?

For a one-off experiment, one possibility is an old vacuum tube HF transmitter in the 100 watt class. This is the sort with manual adjustments for Drive, Tune, Plate and Load. Modify it to feed in 1 MHz. Adjust it to work. They're typically very flexible, but 200 ohm load is getting 4:1 from 50 ohms. You could easily make or buy a 4:1 balun to make your 200 ohm load into more standard 50 ohms.

Another possibility would be to build a quick and dirty Class-A amplifier using power MOSFETs and lots of heat sinking Use a stout bench power supply, and make bias and drive adjustable. It's almost design-free, but would require correct RF build and wiring techniques to avoid problems (e.g. oscillations).

Some have used Compact Flourescent Lightbulbs to provide a cheap source of parts for home made low power HF transmitters.
