We are starting to use Revit analytical here at my company more and are using it to export into RISA for structural analysis. We are having trouble with cantilevered beams and joists. The issue is that Revit won't put nodes where beams and joist go over top supporting walls and beams. In Risa floor or 3d how do we deal with all the beams being unsupported by the walls and beams. Is there an easy way to do this without either manually putting in nodes or manually putting in the cantilevers?

If anyone is familiar with this type of work flow (Revit analytical to Risa) any help or tips would be appreciated,

Thanks

In revit, you have to model the cantilever as 2 separate members with the "moment" connection type turned on where you want them to be continuous. In theory, risa will recognize this and convert it to a beam with a cantilever when it does the transfer. I tend to make a lot of these changes directly in the rise model after I transfer it over from revit. It just seems to work out better doing this part of the modelling in risa, in that I have generally seen less errors when I do it this way.
