When checking in drawings, PDMWorks adds the contents of the NOTE column of the PDMWorks Check-in Window to the drawings revision table's DESCRIPTION column. Can other revision table columns be populated from the PDMWorks Check-in Window?

i.e. Rev By, Zone, Approver, etc

Thanks,

If you have access to the vault admin in PDMWorks, look the Property Mapping functionality. The Help area provides information on this.

I've tried that but I can't get the Revision table to retrieve the custom properties to populate the cells.

I'll keep looking - it may be time to write a macro.

I've done what you're trying to do. Took me a while to remember how I did it though.

Any properties you want mapped that you want to appear in your revision block must be part of you "properties.txt" file which is located in "C:\Program Files\SolidWorks XXXX\lang\english\properties.txt". You just add the name to the bottom of the list.

You will also need to map it as Finethread noted above.

Hope that's what you were looking for.

Thanks automationbabe.

I still can't get the revision table column to be autmatically filled when checking in the drawing. SW gives the following options for revision table columns (Zone, Revision, Date, Description, Approved, Custom). Even when I create an 'Aprroved' property in PDMWorks and map it the SW custom properties, the revision table leaves that cell blank when I check-in.

If I disable the PDM revision table and fill in the table manually prior to checking in, I can get the info into the table - but that seems like a task PDMWorks should be able to do in its sleep.

Any thoughts on how to set-up the revision table columns would be appreciated.

Thanks,
