Reverting to SP1.0

Is it possible to un-install SP2.0EV and go back to SP1.0 without reinstalling SW?

There is an option to remove service pack in the service pack installer ( at least I remember seeing this)

You have to re-run the SP DL, then the Rollback is avail.

I don't suggest doing this. I have seen more problems doing a rollback then if you just uninstall and reinstall.

I've got a problem after installing Sp2.0 EV. I rolled back to SP1.0 but the problem is still there. Here's the problem:

I created a drawing of an assembly made out of subassemblies and parts. I created the BOM. Opened each component and updated the custom properties. Going back to the drawing the changes reflected in the BOM. Saved the drawing then printed. Closed the drawing, saved averything and closed SolidWorks. I opened SolidWorks again, opened the drawing. All my changes that I have made,seen in the BOM and printed are gone. This happened only for subassemblies, not for parts.

I rolled back to SP1.0.

Opened the drawing. Opened one subassembly, changed the description, saved it, closed it. The new description showed in the BOM. Closed the drawing. Opened the drawing. The BOM shows the old description and the subassembly, indeed has the old description. Very strange behaviour!!!

Tomorrow I'll have to clean my computer and reinstall SW.

Don't tell me you were using the EV of SP2.0 in production? You should only use EV for testing only... after all it is beta and not released.

Report your issue directly to SW and see what they have to say about it.

I don't install it until it full production release and it's been a couple of days since it was released.

I did a clean install of SolidWorks 2006 SP1.0 and my system still behaves as described above. There must be something wrong with this assembly.

Did you manually update the BOM at all or is all the data from the CP of the parts?

If you go to the CP of the parts do you still see the changes there?

This may sound stupid, but did you save each part after you made the changes or did you just close it all without saving?

The BOM was automatically generated from components CPs. I did make sure the changes were saved. After the changes I closed SW, then opened each component individually, made sure the properties were there, then opened the assembly drawing and it did it again, the properties were gone.

It happened every time with this assembly drawing. And only with properties of subassemblies. Parts component properties were stable.

Since then I deleted the drawing and redone it. Using the same steps. Now it is OK. The difference between this one and the previous one was the SP, this new one in SP1.0, the one with problems in SP2.0EV.

Scott, this is do strange that if someone would have told me this story I wouldn't believe it. I would suppose he did something wrong.
