hello friends,i am learning catia v5 R16.so can any tell me what is reverse engineerig.
 
Reverse Engineering is the process of modeling a part or assembly, based on an existing, physical object. In other words, it's copying a real part to create a CATIA model; either by measuring and re-drawing, or by scanning and converting the scan into geometry.

CATIA V5 has several modules that can be used for Reverse Engineering:
IBM - CATIA Shape Design & Styling Discipline - CATIA Reverse Engineering 2 (RE2)
