It is desired to use an existing composite concrete slab poured over "Cofar" composite metal deck (with wires welded to deck) for infrequent vehicle traffic. We know from fatigue tests of the more modern composite deck (with pattern indentations) that repetitive wheel loading can cause a loss of bond between the deck and the concrete. We are not sure whether this is a concern with this older deck (which is no longer made). I believe this is a rated, lightweight slab.
Any suggestions, short of removing the deck? Perhaps, mechanically fastening deck to concrete? Cut away deck at intervals and install carbon fiber strips?
