I'm looking for standards/specification numbers that cover the calculations for, and manufacturing of, 'restriction orifices'(and not 'flow orifice plates').
Are they covered by the same standards/specifications for flow orifice plates e.g., ISO 5167, AGA Report No.3, API 14.3.2 or something else ?
I have searched through the above and they seem to be more 'flow orifice plate' specific and I cannot find any mention of restriction orifices.

Thanks in advance.

You can use the flow orifice standards up to 1000 inch water pressure differential. Using a paddle style plate as a restriction orifice for higher drop requires a thicker plate. Calculate the bore using "pipe taps" to obtain the permanent loss. If it is really high dp such as a gas blowdown application after a blowdown valve consider a choke.

Many thanks for your reply.
Can I ask where your info of 1000"wc dp came from ?
My reason for asking is that I'm preparing RO data sheets and I want to put references/specs as notes to the vendors.
Where would I find the info that would tell me what RO plate thickness to use ?

API MPMS 14.3.2
Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards
Chapter 14—Natural Gas Fluids Measurement
Section 3—Concentric, Square-Edged Orifice Meters
Part 2—Specification and Installation Requirements
Table 2-3—Orifice Plate Thickness and Maximum Allowable Differential Pressure Based on the Structural Limit
Maximum Allowable DP("H20)

Many thanks for your info.
Much appreciated.............
