Hello,

I am working on a heat loss calculation for a shipping container. This is one of those 20ft x 7ft x 7ft insulated reefer containers. I don't have a lot of information on the container, but I'm assuming most of them are relatively the same. I am looking for a Resistance Value (R value) for the insulation of the containers. I know this isn't a specific request, but maybe someone will know a rough value.

Thank you

Stephen

Measure it...

Nbucska,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't measure it considering I don't have access to such a container.

Do you know who makes them? at least you could find out the thickness and material of the insulation.

You dont write what type of insulation you have - but I have a no. of reference values here:

Urethane foam: h: 0.018 W/mK
Polystyrene foam: 0.027 W/mK
Fiberglass block: 0.035 W/mK

Best regards

Morten
