Is it possible to rename a directory without losing any of the associated links between the 'assembly' and 'part' files?

If all of the parts and assemblies are contained in that directory, then renaming it will have no affect.

If the files are spread around in multiple directories and what you desire is to rename one of those directories, then that is a problem.

A way to make this change is to use SolidWorks Explorer to copy all of the files in the directory to a new directory with the correct name. While in SolidWorks Explorer, make sure to "find where used" for the files. Unfortunately this method will need to be done one file at a time.

I would probably just change the name of the directory and then browse to find it when I open an assembly that uses the parts in the offending directory.

Thanks... just what I thought what the answer would be, but thought I would ask.

I've always used the Find References functionality to copy assembly components to a new directory. Drawings will have to found individually.
