Hi, I have a problem that when I create a broken out section view in a drawing (Solidworks 2007), the program automatically hatches the drawing for me but I want to do this myself.

There is a button in the 'definition' menu under 'depth' that is labelled as 'auto hatching', yet turning this off when creating the broken out section view does not turn off all the hatching it seems.

I have tried the help and searched every menu I can find but cannot solve the problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Try clicking within the hatched area of the broken-out section, not the boundary sketch, a "Broken-out Section" Properties box should appear in the left pane. Now uncheck the "Material Crosshatch" to enable the other hatching options and select a hatch pattern and scale it to suit. Make sure that the "Apply changes immediately" checkbox is ticked in the Options box below Properties so that you can see the results as you go.

Hope this helps.
